José Prats is an Annie Award–winning, BAFTA and Goya-nominated writer, director and illustrator working across animation and live action.
As a color and concept artist, he has collaborated with studios including Aardman Animations, DNEG, Reel FX, Passion Pictures, Nexus studios and Mackinnon and Saunders on commercials, shorts, games and features including Angry Birds 3 and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
His short Umbrellas screened at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and was nominated for a Goya Award. Adiós, a stop-motion drama set in rural Spain, won the Annie Award for Best Student Film, screened at Annecy International Animation Film Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival, and received a BAFTA nomination for Best British Animation.
José holds a BA in Fine Arts and an MA in Directing Animation from the National Film and Television School. He is currently developing two new shorts: Barro, in stop-motion animation, and Gas, in live action.
